David Gonzalez
Expertise
Geek Management | Process & Data Analysis | Product Development |
Social Media Marketing | Strategic Planning
David is a formally trained statistician and ecologist (Masters of Science - BYU) which has given him the background needed to create unique and powerful data-driven business models. David has brought diverse projects to fruition, ranging from fresh water policy change to helping found a community bank, based on good instincts and an unfailing commitment to data supported decision making. David was instrumental in creating a new bank in southern Utah (Town & Country Bank) by authoring the initial pro-forma projections, creating the business plan, conducting FDIC market surveys, attracting seed capital, and serving on the initial board which then hired the bank's management. Since then, David has consulted businesses in the arenas of banking, personal finance, and credit. He was recently the president of Financial1Educators and has the important experience of managing a small business during the formative start-up phase. He has simultaneously orchestrated the work of up to eight software programmers (who were located across the globe) while also running a small business. As a mathematician, David quickly picked up the languages of programming and has created several algorithms and tools which illustrate financial principles and empower individuals to make wise decisions.
What it's like working with David
Experience has taught David that identifying core problems and getting to real solutions quickly and candidly is often the difference between success and failure in small business. Discovering, interpreting, and utilizing data effectively to create a plan is one of David's greatest strengths. For example, in 2007 David helped one small business owner turn the corner. Before engaging with David, the client had only been experiencing sporadic growth with a mediocre product and without a strategic plan. David propelled this small financial services business to record profits (revenues of $375,000 from $180,000 the previous year) by implementing business process automation, database integration, strategic planning, improved marketing, and new product development. David thrives on lifting new ideas to where they can walk on their own.
Kent White
Expertise
Project Management | Sales | Organizational Development/HR |
Accounting | Web Design & Analysis | Communication
A voracious reader, Kent is passionate about the power of ideas and how they can inform decisions, improve lives, and build communities. After graduating with honors from BYU in Near Eastern Studies, Kent decided to enter the business world because he wanted to utilize business to create value and influence in the world. For three years, Kent received advanced sales training at the Sandler Sales Institute and he also served as a personal development facilitator with the Arbinger Institute. Kent has training and firsthand experience in various financial markets (stocks, options, currencies, real estate) and has worked as a salesperson and consultant to businesses in those industries. For seven years, Kent ran a company which provided services to small businesses such as bookkeeping, property management, contracted sales, consulting, marketing (including web-based), and web design. Five years ago Kent was recruited as the project manager for A Child's Hope Foundation (a public charity that serves orphaned children abroad) and has been responsible for distilling and communicating the charity's mission and vision to donors and volunteers. While at ACHF, Kent was responsible for its marketing, organizational development (strategic planning, policies, procedures, business plans), human resources, and database management; as well as served as the director of its volunteer programs and Mexico program. This work has allowed him to interact intimately with several of Utah's high-net-worth individuals and entrepreneurs.
What it's like working with Kent
Kent is refreshingly affirming, insightful, and thoroughly committed to carefully identifying and defining what is most important to all stakeholders. Kent is a model of good communication and conflict resolution. For example, a few years ago Kent was approached by a broker with an idea to develop a program that would exploit various market inefficiencies. The broker had the relationships with the financial institutions to get their data feeds, but needed a programmer and the funding to capitalize on the business opportunity. Kent immediately saw the potential of the business plan and brought the broker, programmer, and venture capital together to begin the business. After negotiations broke down and one party walked away, Kent spent the next few weeks meeting separately with each individual to address concerns, communicate priorities, facilitate concessions, and revived the deal. As a direct result of Kent's efforts, all the individuals were able to come to an agreement and the first stage of the business was fully funded. As you share your vision and ideas for your business, you will find that Kent will quickly become one of your biggest fans.
